Our spacious, comfortable funeral home is a community landmark, where friends and family can gather in warm, home-like surroundings.
Since the funeral home was founded in 1954, many renovations for expansion have taken place, including increasing the size of the parking lot for more convenient parking, enlarging the size of entrances, and making the restrooms handicapped accessible.
JAMES F. HIGGINS, 1921-2010, NJ Lic. 1827, FOUNDER - After serving in the Army Air Corps in World War II, he graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and became a funeral director in 1947.
J. NOLAN HIGGINS, NJ Lic. 3469, MANAGER - Became a licensed funeral director in 1979 after graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the American Academy McAllister Institute in New York City. He has earned the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner from the Academy of Funeral Service Practice, is a charter member of the Funeral Ethics Association, and a former instructor in the Funeral Service Program at Mercer County College.
MARK T. SWEENEY NJ Lic. 3864 - A graduate of Ocean County College. He became a licensed funeral director after completing Mercer County College's Funeral Service Program.
W. CHAD DOHERTY NJ Lic. 4249 - Received his license after graduating from the Mercer County Funeral Service Program. He also served in the US Army before entering funeral service.
MARK L. TOBIE NJ Lic. 4568 - A graduate of Middlesex College and Mercer County Community College, he became a licensed funeral director after completing the Mercer County College Funeral Service Program. He currently serves as an officer for the Monmouth-Ocean Counties Funeral Directors Association.
