Margaret H. McLeod, 81 of Freehold passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Pahokee, Florida, she lived in Freehold and Trenton prior to returning to Freehold five years ago. She was a member of Overcoming Faith Temple, Freehold. Mrs. McLeod was a manager for Black Jack’s Restaurant, Trenton, for 30 years, retiring in 2012. She was predeceased by her father, Willie James Brown, Sr.; her husband, Herbert McLeod; her children, Dennis McLeod, Abdus Salam Mujaahid, and Jeannette McLeod; her brother, Willie James Brown, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Rakeisha Denard. Surviving is her daughter, Cheryl Portee, Freehold; her mother, Jeannette Green Brown, Freehold; two brothers, Pastor Sylvester Brown, Long Branch, and Roosevelt Brown, Freehold; two sisters, Nellie Manning, Freehold, and Ethel Devereaux, Toms River; four grandchildren, Jon, Harry, Desire, and Adrian; and three great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Overcoming Faith Temple, 11 Haley Street, Freehold on Thursday, May 27, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funereal services will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
