Obituary of Elmer Bernard Cisco, Jr.
Elmer Bernard Cisco, Jr. 59, of Freehold Township, passed away on July 15, 2022. He was born in Glen Cove New York, on June 26, 1963, and with his family moved to Long Beach, New York where he attended grade school through high school. Elmer had a few nicknames of endearment, a/k/a “Cisco Kid”, “Cisco”, “CX” and his family referred to him as “June – short for Jr.” Elmer was a passionate artist, his art lives in drawings, paintings, and music production. Elmer was a lover of people, and he would help anyone he saw in need in any way he could. His vibration was of love, as he meditated daily on the love vibration of 528. He was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. He is now a non-denominational Christian. He was known to be a master of trades. He was a barber, a carpenter, an unofficial landscaper, a plumber, and an electrician. His official work was with the Greyhound Bus Company as an Interstate Bus Driver. He worked for Amtrak railroad as a coach cleaner, and he worked for the Hempstead School District as a lunch/hall monitor where he co-chaired a ROTC Program and co-chaired a DADS (Dads Are Doing Something) program for the youth without the presence of a father. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard where he served as a Multichannel Communications Equipment Operator and Skilled Marksman. Elmer was a recipient of two kidney transplants, one from his loving brother Irving and another from an unknown person. He was on Hemodialysis. Elmer maintained an active lifestyle throughout his health issues. One of his favorite things was gathering with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer Bernard Cisco, Sr., and Sarah Jean Carpenter Cisco; his brother James Carpenter, and his sisters Josephine Cisco and Karen Cisco. Elmer is survived by his wife, Cynthia Hartley-Cisco; his children, Kian Smith-Cisco, Angel Bernard Cisco, Naeem Bernard Cisco, and Sherod W. Hartley; his seven grandchildren, Sha’Kia Bailey, Ky’Shari Briggins, Kali Smith, Avian Love, Hope Cisco, Leileani Cisco, and Avian Cisco; his siblings, Charles Cisco (Gretchen Cisco), New York, Joseph Cisco, North Carolina, William Cisco, New York, Richard Cisco, Georgia, Henry I. Cisco, New York, Orinthian Cisco, (Lisa Cisco),New York, Julius Coston, New York, John Coston, New York, Bernadette Cisco-Ceaser (August Ceaser, Jr.) North Carolina, Lillian Cisco-Rosario, New York, Charlotte Cisco-LaSane (William LaSane), New York, Theresa Farr, New York, and Patricia Farr-Thurmon, New York; and has eight maternal aunts and uncles and is survived by two special aunts, Eddie B. Hammond, South Carolina, and Tempia Stewart, Alabama. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
